Gear of the Year 2022
It's the list that absolutely nobody needed or asked for but let's appreciate some wrestling fashion!
I have a confession to make that may come as a surprise to those who follow me on Twitter…I love wrestling gear. I spent many nights watching Project Runway as a kid, obsessed with the gorgeous looks and obviously slating the horrendous ones too; there’s just something about people wearing cool outfits that puts a smile on my face and in the sport of wrestling there are tons of cool outfits available. So, armed with many years of watching fashion-related reality TV and with no official-ness to this at all, let’s showcase some of my favourite wrestling gear to come out of this year!
The only real rule here is that the gear must have debuted in 2022. If tag teams have matching gear, they’ll share an entry in the list. Also, with acts that have quite similar gears with minimal changes between them, I’ll put in my favourite one of the lot in to make sure the list has variety in it!
As for what I look for when deciding what makes the list, I’m mainly looking for any one of these three things:
Does it look good?: Seems basic, but it’s the most important one! The outfit has to look good.
Is there inspiration behind the look?: Is the look an homage to another wrestler or match? Is there a pop culture reference behind it or does it directly reference the theme of the event that it was worn at? All of these things can make awesome gear!
Is it unique?: This is a difficult one to crack, however something that will get bonus points is if it’s something new and fresh, whether it’s in the style of gear in general or if it’s something that the wrestler themselves doesn’t usually wear.
Now, without further ado, let’s get on with the list! You guys voted for a Top 50 (which was more of a struggle than I thought since I had to leave some great ones off!) so get ready for a big read!
NUMBERS 50-41:
#50. ISHIN IIHASHI (DRAGON GATE)
Upon joining the scooter-riding hooligans that are M3K, Ishin Iihashi gained a new fit that made him fit right into Dragon Gate’s resident bad boy faction. Transitioning from the singlet into the baggy pants was a great decision, whilst still keeping the pink feathers in there as a tribute to his mother, former joshi wrestler Utako Hozumi. The pink bomber and the sunglasses really added to make a complete 180 to his former look. It’s a shame it didn’t last long, since he betrayed M3K shortly after and defected to Z-Brats (where he also has some pretty neat gear!), but it was nice that we had this fit while it lasted!
#49. ANNA JAY (AEW)
This was a tricky one, because I LOVED her light blue number from when she first joined the J.A.S, but alas the red won. I really liked this one because it was a nice change in style for Anna and really signified her new character away from the dark order. The red pleather is super cute and the whole gear in general is very rock-and-roll, fitting for her new life in Jericho’s stable. I also love that she’s kept the star theme from her previous outfits even though she’s changed her look up a bit. Overall, it’s a super cute outfit!
#48. STARLIGHT KID (STARDOM)
Since joining Oedo Tai, I’ve loved pretty much everything Starlight Kid has worn, but this year the shorts fit won for me. She’s the first on this list rocking a cape (which was a bit of an underrated theme this year! Wrestlers in 2022 loved a sparkly cape), but the outfit underneath I think is adorable too! The shorts with the little tulle puffs on the side are really cute and I love the mix of the vibrant purple and blue in the gear. The gloves and kickpads with the flash of white are cool also. (Side note though: the matching masks with El Desperado were so snazzy! Loved them!)
#47. MINA SHIRAKAWA (STARDOM)
This is a VERY busy look, but honestly I think it really works. It was about time for Mina to get that big entrance robe, so the fact she made it sparkly scales and put the Jericho jacket lights in it made me smile. There’s tassels, there’s 50/50 colour splits, there’s a whole ass overskirt, there’s feathers, she even put banners on the look, but I loved it! Hopefully big things coming for Mina next year too!
#46. KENTA (NJPW)
Might be semi-controversial this one being so low, but while it’s incredibly simple, I really loved this look. The reversal of his usual style was really cool and the white gear and hoodie together made for a great combo. I also think it looked fantastic against the NJPW US title design! A winner for me!
#45. MAKI ITOH (TJPW)
There was no way the Cutest in the World was being left off the list. I adore this new look from Maki, it’s so much fun! The leather shorts with the ruffles are super cute, the half-half hair really suits her and I love the huge bow as always. She’s worn a pretty bomber jacket with this look too and I love a good bomber jacket. This is probably my favourite look of Maki’s!
#44. KIP SABIAN & PENELOPE FORD (AEW)
Both Sabian and Ford have been out most of the year with injury, but when they returned, they returned with two incredible new looks! Sabian’s was one of my favourites overall at All Out; you don’t see pinstripes a lot on gear and I thought that, along with the velvet coat and the addition of the kind of raspberry colour in places was a great touch. The white hair suits him too! Penelope’s always looked fabulous, but her new outfit is fantastic, fitting for her and also in a similar fabric to the Bunny’s red lace look too. I love that she’s been experimenting with her makeup lately. Overall, two devilishly good looks for the super-bad couple!
#43. SAKI (COLOR’S)
SAKI’s worn this amazing set in several colours this year, but the blue and pink had to be my favourite of the lot! She’s the first of a few animal head enthusiasts on this list and there’s a ton of fur on the outfit. I’m overjoyed that at least one person in wrestling is carrying on Tyler Breeze’s legacy with the fur legwarmers! The dark blue is also a gorgeous colour and goes amazingly with the baby pink. Loved it!
#42. DAKOTA KAI (WWE)
Dakota Kai, whilst being one of many to rock the 50/50 trend with the hair this year, also rolled into Survivor Series wearing one of my favourite styles ever: CHAPS. TAKE NOTES HANGMAN!!! BRING THEM BACK!!! Anyway, I absolutely love chaps, I don’t know what it is about them, but Amy here loves a chaps moment and I thought this gear was highly successful. It was a completely different style for Dakota, she looked amazing and it was the most “Wargames” fitting outfit at the event. Gold star and I hope she continues to rock this style!
#41. BECKY LYNCH (WWE)
I’ve been a bit tough on Becky; she had some questionable looks this year and seemed to have a penchant for wearing headpieces that looked like satellite dishes on her head, but I really enjoyed this look of hers from Wrestlemania. Sort of the calm before the 80’s rolled back in full force. Becky has become a bit of a shoulder pad lover this year, but they were successful with this jacket! The black gear underneath looked amazing, I love the style of kickpads she’s wearing that jut all the way up into the point, the tulle skirt photographs super well and she accessorised it with a simple pair of shades. I was also a huge fan (for some reason) of her Cheeto eyebags makeup. Definitely by far my favourite look of Becky’s this year.
NUMBERS 40-31:
#40. BRITT BAKER & JAMIE HAYTER (AEW)
This is going to be edition #1 of people likely commenting “How did this get so low?!”, but trust me I’ve found some STIFF competition this year. However, this tag team outfit I adored from Britt and Jamie. Britt had her usual coat in these colours which looked amazing, I love the Homelander-esque colour scheme (the Cody jokes abut this outfit were hilarious), and the fact that both outfits are completely bedazzled made them stand out really nicely on camera. The moment they rocked up wearing these outfits was when I really started to see Britt and Jamie as a proper team. Really pretty work!
#39. KAZUCHIKA OKADA (NJPW)
While the gear underneath was super simple, this robe has been one of my favourite entrance pieces all year and I couldn’t bear leaving it off the list! Not only does Kazu look AMAZING in it, but I think it’s so cool that the robe has the history of NJPW as the print, I think that’s incredible. It’s something I’ve never personally seen before but now kind of need everyone else to do too. This one was a winner with me, but with more stylish gear underneath it would’ve scored even higher!
#38. BANDIDO (AAA)
I’m not really a lucha watcher (I watch some of the bigger events if a guy I’m into is in one!) but when looking through some lucha photos for the list, I came across this outfit and absolutely loved it. Bandido also wore a cool Mexico-themed tag team fit with Komander for GLEAT (which really nearly made the list too), but this one won it for me. The mask is giving me Venom vibes (which has happened with quite a few fits this year) and it looks really cool from afar. The blue, white and gold colour scheme is timeless and I LOVE the sparkly cape (and not the last sparkly cape on the list either)!
#37. ADAM PAGE (AEW)
What’s more Cowboy Shit that wearing the rainbow colours in the same state that passed a legislation restricting the teaching of sexual orientation and gender issues? Message aside though, I also just really liked this gear! I love a fringe moment and the rainbow fringe was really well done. The bedazzled cacti and flower print on the top of the jacket was really pretty too. Hangman has had many successful gear moments, but I think this might be my favourite (though the “Bitch, I’m a cow” gear and the chaps hold big competition for that spot!)
#36. MAIKA (STARDOM)
I’ve become a huge fan of Maika’s this year, but this gear she debuted in her Wonder of Stardom championship opportunity was stunning. The sort of kimono-capelet might be one of my favourite pieces of the year, I think it’s so beautiful and the print is stunning! The colours and copius amounts of glitter on the gear are a winner to me too. I think when she came out in this outfit, it was the first time I really saw her as a future top contender. Awesome stuff (and also one of the coolest entrances of the year to boot).
#35. GOLD CLASS (DRAGON GATE)
Chiki-chiki-chiki! 😎👇🏻✨ The stable originally aimed at bringing in the ladies-turned trio of lovable dorks with the addition of former samurai turned novice battle rapper Ben-K have one of my favourite stable looks of the year. Obviously expected because of their name, these three are decked out entirely in gold, but each outfit has their own little twist which I love. Minoura has the huge and flamboyant entrance jacket, Minorita has his own mini version but with it’s own similar design and pattern, and Ben-K’s comically huge gold chains are hilarious but stylish at the same time. 2023 looks to be big for Gold Class and they’ve got an awesome look to carry them into the year!
#34. ATHENA (AEW)
Continuing on the animal head trend from SAKI earlier comes Athena, who rolled into All Out with a bedazzled rhinestoned skull on her shoulder. I’m vibing personally. The coat is very Mad Max in the best way, the white gear underneath is super cool, the wings make for an awesome entrance (even if I think they don’t fit the look entirely) but the thing that really pulled it together was the hair and makeup. Shoutout AEW Glam team, you did a killer job on this one!
#33. EL HIJO DEL VIKINGO (AAA)
Vikingo is one of my favourite wrestlers to watch, so when I saw him walk into Triplemania with this outfit, I was floored. The “wearing white gear when someone’s about to bleed on it” trend always rules, but the thing I really loved most about this was the entrance mask. It looked amazing! The red cape against the white gear was fabulous too and the viking horn was an awesome little touch to the look.
#32. SETH ROLLINS (WWE)
While I’m not a huge lover of Seth’s MiNd GaMeS outfits, I really loved his look from Wrestlemania this year. The blue is gorgeous and I love that he went for a print on the jacket too (it also matches the Wrestlemania blue which, intentional or not, is great)! The sheer lace moments I really liked too. It’s not often that men experiment with sheer moments on their gear, so it was fresh and cool to see it on Seth. Honestly could’ve done without the shirt, but I don’t hate it. Overall, a great look!
#31. RICKY STARKS (AEW)
This was a grower on me I have to say: originally when I reviewed the All Out fits, I thought this would’ve been better as trunks, but actually looking at it a few times, I love it as tights. Ricky usually wears trunks, so seeing him try the long pants was a fresh change. The motorbike rider vibes from this were awesome and it really suited him. He looked like a star! Ricky loves a good rhinestone too which means he’s always good in my books!
NUMBERS 30-21:
#30. LIV MORGAN (WWE)
When I said earlier about how wearing the colours of the event or matching the theme of the PPV can make gear better, Liv’s outfit from Extreme Rules was a big example of this for me. I loved that she rocked the purple and green colour scheme from the event and I think her look was highly successful! I love the sort of Joker vibes jacket, the purple and green she used were really lovely shades, the gloves were super cute, the makeup was lovely and I love a bedazzled baseball bat! Maybe Jericho should bedazzle Floyd a bit or maybe Death Triangle should bedazzle their hammers before Game 7? Food for thought lads!"
#29. JADE CARGILL (AEW)
Jade’s gear is usually quite simple (but still really pretty) but when she walked out in this Mortal Kombat-themed fit at Revolution, she looked like such a star. I love that she took the “green like money” phrase she started using and went for a full green look; the shade of green she used for her hair is gorgeous and really suits her. The whole look is super badass and while Jade has rocked a few cosplay gears this year, the Jade look was by far my favourite. Loved!
#28. HIMEKA (STARDOM)
Perhaps one of my favourite entrance coats of the year, Himeka arrived for her World of Stardom championship match looking like a star. The coat is absolutely stunning, but the year underneath I think is cool too. The different layers of reds, pinks and whites on the skirt are cute, everything is bedazzled which gets huge points in my book, and I actually really like the one leg belt thing she has going on. Lovely outfit!
#27. MARIKA KOBASHI (FREELANCE)
Marika Kobashi returned to wrestling last month and she came back with a BANG! I adored this look and it’s by far my favourite that I’ve ever seen her in. She rocked the 50/50 trend with a sort of half-chap and I love the bedazzled fringe she has going on too. The leopard print and orange combo looks great, but what I love most about the look is that entrance mask! Sometimes you can get people try that style and it doesn’t look too good, but hers looks exactly like her face, it matches up perfectly! This look rocks and it’s so appropriate for Marika as she progresses into the next stage of her career.
#26. RUSH (AEW)
The third in the quartet of people rocking animal heads in gear this year, RUSH having a giant fucking bull head sewn onto his coat was a massive serve. He came into AEW and immediately started creating buzz for himself and this outfit was a huge success for me. The huge fluffy white coat is fantastic and that entrance mask is stunning! Love the holo pink and blue sequins on it and they look great combined with the white outfit.
#25. SYURI (STARDOM)
We got 50/50 pants! I think I would’ve scored this look higher had it not been 50/50 pants, I don’t think it entirely works here, but I really like this look as a whole! There’s a great mix of colours and patterns here; the reds, purples, greens and golds all really work together! The look is incredibly busy, with different kickpad and kneepad styles, straps in multiple places, frilly things and a neckpiece, but you can’t help but admire all the work that’s gone into this outfit. Plus, one thing I do love about Syuri is her amazing entrance coats that match perfectly with the World of Stardom Championship!
#24. SASHA BANKS (WWE)
Speaking of snazzy entrance coats, hello Sasha Banks! Her Wrestlemania coat was sparkles to the max and it photographed beautifully! The gear was sort of an evolution of her regular style and I loved the extra straps and details on it compared to some of her more standard sets. The hair with the neon green dip dye was really cool too. A very beautiful and successful look!
#23. GO SHIOZAKI (NOAH)
I might get crucified for this one being quite low, but don’t be fooled: I absolutely adored this gear and the production around Go’s entrance for this match in general. Rocking the Misawa colours, this outfit was simple but really great nonetheless. I love the style of the cape and how it swoops over more on one side, and he even put a bit of sparkle on the inside of it too!
#22. TOMOKA INABA (JTO)
Tomoka Inaba is one of the many wrestlers I’ve discovered and gotten into this year and this match was the first time I’d ever seen her perform. I’m a bit of a closet mark for “shooter-style” gear (one big example is how Malakai Black needs to bring back the shorts ASAP) and I love the simple but effective white gear she’s wearing. The real showstopper though is that gorgeous kimono! One thing I also love about this look is how much it really compliments the unique design of her championship. Great stuff here!
#21. YOUNG BUCKS (AEW)
Denise Cutler has once again outdone herself! I loved this outfit from the Young Bucks! It’s over the top and tacky as anything, but it’s perfect! The graffiti print with this sort of Art Attack-esque print work super well together, I love the rhinestone fringe on their bandanas and pants and the custom trainers are a lovely touch. Honorary mention to Brandon Cutler’s disco tiger tracksuit, you’re also serving a look too king!
NUMBERS 20-11:
#20. REY FENIX (AEW)
Fenix, since Grand Slam, has rocked this gear in blue lightning, grey and orange themes, and while I loved all of them the original blue won in the end. Not only is the sparkly cape fabulous (he debuted this earlier in the year, but wears it with these outfits anyway), but the one leg fringe on the phoenix pattern is so cool, creative and not something I’ve ever seen before in that design. As you can see too, it also moves and photographs amazingly! Need Fenix to always have fringe on his gear now because this one is a stunner!
#19. HIKARU SHIDA (AEW)
The first of two Shida fits in the list (and my favourite out of her regular featured outfits this year), I adore this look! A subtle rock of the 50/50 trend with the different grey and black fabrics in the outfit, but both look amazing paired together! I love the leg accessories, the pattern and fur moment on the top really works and I love that she’s continuing the face paint that she’s started wearing as of late! A fantastic look!
#18. BIANCA BELAIR (WWE)
With a less tinfoil-esque jacket this would’ve scored even higher, but this Bianca outfit is a hit for me! I love the full denim gear, obviously I love the sheer amount of rhinestone fringe AND she even rocked chaps with the fringe too! The hair also is probably one of my favourite hairstyles of the year, the silver scalp pattern is stunning! Bianca always pulls out some amazing looks and this is one of my favourites!
#17. SASHA BANKS (WWE)
Jade wasn’t the only one to rock some cosplay gear in the list this year, as Sasha too wowed with her Sailor Moon tribute at the Royal Rumble. I love how you can tell it’s obviously Sailor Moon inspired, but also looks very much like something Sasha would wear anyway. The makeup is fantastic, having the Sailor Moon space buns is a great touch, the top is smashing and the tearaway skirt moment was cool and not something she typically does! Definitely my favourite from the Rumble this year.
#16. KENOH (NOAH)
The finale in the animal heads on gear squad is Kenoh, who stunned in this full red number, complete with bowl cut. The pants underneath were relatively simple (with some extra red details on them), but the magic is really in that entrance jacket. The patchwork of the different shades of red and some goldish colours works really well and those massive lions on his shoulders look INSANE!
#15. WILL OSPREAY (NJPW)
I’ve been a big fan of virtually every United Empire gear Ospreay’s worn since forming the stable, but this one from Forbidden Door was fantastic. The pants are really intricate and detailed, but not overdone, the over-pants (yes, we had 2 pairs of pants here) in the grey were pretty cool and that jacket is a real piece and a half! I love the mint-green fur (not usually a colour people wear, so it was lovely to see) and I love how much print is on the look. Forbidden Door’s best dressed, in my opinion!
#14. HIKARU SHIDA (AEW)
Guess who’s back, back again? Shida’s back! I have to say I think this is one of my favourite street fight outfits that I’ve ever seen. It’s just so complete and creative. The jean kimono-style jacket with the belt as the collar is inspired, I love the bodysuit that she wore and that flower embroidery that she had among the pieces. The face paint continuing to meet the shirt was a really cool touch too. I also now need to see Shida in far more street fights so she can keep pulling out gear like this!
#13. MELTEAR (STARDOM)
Meltear have had a couple of tag team outfits this year, but this one was my favourite out of the lot. I love the matching halter tops, the frilly shorts, the amount of arm bands/leg bands and the over the top tulle skirts, everything works here for me. I love a crown too, so the mini crowns are absolutely adorable! As we’ll see with another tag team outfit in the top 5, I also loved how the looks are definitely matching with each other, but not exactly the same.
#12. KAIRI (STARDOM)
The Pirate Princess came back to wrestling this year and with that came her amazing gear. It was a huge toss up between this one and the blue and pink number she wore when tagging with Natsupoi earlier in the year, but this one from Historic X-Over ended up taking the prize. The burgundy, gold and black colour scheme is a classic and looks amazing, the entrance jacket is gorgeous and I love the massive pirate hat with almost like an avant-garde eyepatch with that diagonal piece of fabric.
#11. ZELINA VEGA (WWE)
One gear I absolutely loved this year that I didn’t see get talked about at all, let alone nearly enough, was Zelina’s from Wrestlemania. I thought a lot of the looks she was pulling out during the Queen gimmick were fantastic, but this one really took the cake. While I think the scepter looks a little bit cartoonish (looks like it’s got an egg yolk in it), the lace cape with the gold skulls is stunning, the crown is so detailed and has so much work in it, and the outfit is bedazzled to the nines. I really loved the red roots hair she had at this time too. A fantastic overall look!
NUMBERS 10-1:
#10. BIANCA BELAIR (WWE)
Kicking off my Top 10 is Bianca Belair, who had probably my favourite wrestling entrance of the year with the marching band covering her theme. Incredible stuff! Her themed jacket to match theirs was super cute and I think this look is potentially my favourite one ever of hers. I love the sheer top with the lips as the motif, the red braid and the massive bow were so fun and the pants are really interesting and cool as well. Loved the net fabric arm sleeves too! A look fit for a star!
#9. BRITT BAKER (AEW)
I was debating the positioning between this look at the previous look with Bianca, but I think Britt’s had the edge because it’s really a look that meshes so well with the title. It was even more special considering this look debuted the same night as the brand new gorgeous AEW Women’s World Title and when I saw the title against this gear, it looked incredible. Minus the boots, there is not one section of this outfit that isn’t bedazzled in some form of gem or rhinestone! The gold zebra/tiger-esque print is fantastic and the jacket is so detailed and beautiful. A perfect first look for this belt, but not the highest AEW Women’s World Champion on the list!
#8. UTAMI HAYASHISHITA (STARDOM)
This might be a bit of a controversial take, but I wasn’t really a fan of Utami’s previous gear, the one with the UTAMI garters, at all. I wasn’t too keen on it. However, when she debuted this look later in the year, I loved it! The feathered jacket with the print on the inside lining is so pretty and I much prefer the style of the halter top for her that this gear has. I also loved her throwback look that she had in her match against Syuri, but this one was the winner!
#7. GIULIA (STARDOM)
It wouldn’t be a Gear of the Year list without Giulia placing relatively high! I adore this silver look from her! The half bare-half covered jacket is incredible and not something I’ve seen before. I also love the mix of prints and textiles in the outfit: there’s shiny silver, glittery silver, holographic fabric, a snakeskin print and a more marble-like print. The style of the pants are really cool too and have become a signature of Giulia’s this year! The whole look really works together and I’m a huge fan of it!
#6. THUNDER ROSA (AEW)
This was very narrowly ousted out of my top 5, but I loved this look from Thunder Rosa because it was completely different for her and a really refreshing surprise! I’ve never seen Rosa wear a full bodysuit before, and this sheer yet covered gear decked out with all those luminous patterns was absolutely stunning. The lace entrance coat (complete with the tribute in the heart) was understated in comparison, but still very pretty, and the entrance crown was gorgeous. My favourite look from Double or Nothing and one of my favourite looks of the year.
#5. WILL OSPREAY (NJPW)
I personally love gear that’s in tribute to other wrestlers, so this Hayabusa tribute from Ospreay was amazing to see (especially reading the story of the process of this gear coming to life too, it was really interesting). Overall, it’s a stunning piece! The mask is incredible, the overall green/teal colour scheme is a really flattering choice, I loved the contrast of the white kickpads and I love the fact that he used a print for the entire set of gear! This was a huge success and probably my favourite thing that Ospreay has ever worn.
#4. SHUN SKYWALKER & DIAMANTE (DRAGON GATE)
Bodysuits were a bit of an underrated theme this year, as seen earlier with Thunder Rosa, and Shun Skywalker & Diamante also chose to adopt the style at Kobe Pro-Wrestling Festival this year, rocking half-half bodysuits in the Z-Brats signature black and yellow colours. Both masks also adopted elements from Shun and Diamante’s usual masks (Diamante has one mesh-covered eye like Shun’s masks have and Shun has a larger eye design on one side reminiscent of Diamante’s regular masks) to create a true mashup of both styles. The glitzy over-masks for the entrance, especially Shun’s with that wide grin, added more to the final boss vibes that this look created. I also loved how both suits were super cohesive, but not exact replicas of each other. A huge thumbs up from me!
#3. AZM (STARDOM)
Okay, so I have a bit of a confession to make (and @_big_ben___ is going to get a lot of glee out of me being converted), but I HATED this gear when I first saw it. I thought it looked like something out of TRON with the neon green accents. However, each time I was exposed to it, I began to love it more and more, until this gold-purple phenomenon ended up becoming one of my favourite pieces of the year. Again following the 50/50 fashion trend that’s taken wrestling in 2022 by storm, the bright gold and purple colours are gorgeous, and while I took the piss out of them at first, I ended up growing to like the green pieces too. While she’s worn this coat with several other gears this year, I think it looks the best with this outfit with the bright colours that pop out from underneath it. It’s definitely risky, but sometimes a risky look is the best look, and this is certainly a unique style of gear for AZM that I hope she continues experimenting with.
#2. JAMIE HAYTER (AEW)
So I’m not sure if it’ll be controversial picking her Full Gear look over her All Out look (since both were AMAZING and both looks made Jamie look like an utter star), but I grew to love the Full Gear look more for it’s added detail. Both looks shared the iconic polar bear-chic jacket with the Star Trek holo corset, but the mix of the shiny silver with the gold houndstooth print sealed the deal for me. The style being different to the other gear she’s worn in AEW was a real bonus too. As a complete look with the hair and makeup, it was stunning and the perfect outfit to introduce AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter to the world!
#1. SAYA KAMITANI (STARDOM)
And speaking of championship worthy fits, here’s a look fit for a true queen! I fell in love with this gear the second I laid eyes on it, and no matter how many amazing looks there were this year, I really struggled to find one that beat this. It’s maximalist TO THE MAX, but everything works! The gold, green and blue colour scheme is super regal, the mix of prints works fabulously, the cropped top of the jacket with the massive amounts of feathers at the bottom is stunning and the little gold necklace accessory is really cute. Not to mention: I got not one but TWO COLOURS OF FRINGE!!! Seriously, look at how this gear moves, it is so stunning. There’s so much going on with this look, but everything works magically together, so for me, it’s my choice for Gear of the Year!
Just a little aside from me! I started doing these silly gear reviews as a bit on the page, but to see people get some form of entertainment out of my crappy jokes and barely 360p screenshots has been funny yet touching to see! This has been a great deal of fun to make and hopefully it reflects how much I’ve enjoyed broadening my horizons in wrestling this year! 💕
I absolutely love both the idea and execution of this! Your list introduced me to so many outfits I hadn’t seen before. 😊
